Pet Care, Dog Training and Behaviour Modification.
Premier Pet Care & Training is an independent business offering ongoing support for pet owners throughout Surrey and West London.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my website & to learn a little more about me and why I do what I do.
I am a qualified canine behaviourist with over 25 years experience working with dogs & cats. Over my career I have studied with some of the UK’s leading training providers, most recently the Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour & Training. I have recently been acknowledged as a Master Trainer by the Guild of Dog Trainers, an organisation who recognises an individual's experience & knowledge.
I am fully trained in animal first aid, DBS checked & fully insured for the work I carry out.
From a very young age I have always been passionate about animals and was the first to make a beeline for any dog I saw! My interest in then working with animals started when I carried out a two-week work experience placement at a local boarding kennels & cattery and on leaving school two years later, I found myself following my dream and began studying for NVQ Levels 2 & 3 at Bellmead Kennels & Cattery Training College in Berkshire. Not only was Bellmead the largest & most popular boarding facility in the South East, it was also the country residence for the most famous rescue in the UK, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.
Since that first year as a student at Bellmead, I have had a 22 year career within the animal welfare industry working in numerous different roles including running & managing a rehoming department, collecting stray dogs as a Local Authority dog warden, working as a canine temperament assessor & most recently in a challenging position as an intake co-ordinator for Battersea, helping people who were no longer in a position to care for their dogs.
My extensive knowledge & experience of animal care means I am able to bring you & your pets the very best service.
I have owned two dogs myself – Tia, a Border Terrier X who suffered with nervous aggression towards people & dogs and Dudley, a deaf Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Both these dogs proved a huge challenge in their own right and required me to draw heavily on my dog behaviour & training knowledge in order for them to be the best dogs they could.
I am committed to supporting & practising the very latest positive & force free training methods to help dogs learn and to successfully modify their behaviour. I also attend as many workshops/seminars/courses & webinars as possible to make sure all my knowledge and education is kept up to date.
